in Politics

The Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Major General Ivica Jerkić, attended a reception celebrating the 20th anniversary of cooperation between Maryland and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the 30th anniversary of cooperation with Estonia under the State Partnership Program. The Governor of Maryland, Mr. Wes Moore, applauded the partner parties for their commitment to preserving and improving partnership relations. The Commander of the National Guard of the US State of Maryland (NGMD), Major General Janeen Brickhead, emphasised the significant achievements and results of long-term bilateral military cooperation and the determination of the NGMD for further improvement.
General Ivica Jerkić expressed gratitude to the civilian and military leadership of Maryland and the Maryland National Guard for their continued support in building a successful partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Sarajevo and Annapolis, establishing friendly ties between Bosnia and Maryland and creating conditions for cooperation in mutually beneficial areas.
The delegation visited the War College of the US Ground Forces in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where they met with Colonel Enis Herić, one of the 75 international students attending the prestigious military training. They held meetings with the military leadership and teaching staff.
On November 15th, the delegation participated in the combined and joint integration exercise of close air support with combat shooting called „Dagger Strike ’23.”
