Vucic Emphasises: Serbia Will Not Recognise Kosovo

2023/11/26
in Politics

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has expressed his opposition to the entry of Kosovo into the UN, stating that it would result in pressure and abuse for Serbia. He believes that the sanctions imposed on Albanians are not serious and blackmail Serbia, as they have something to lose. Vučić also mentioned that the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, will discuss security in Kosovo with the KFOR commander tomorrow.
Vučić emphasised that Serbia is constantly faced with double standards and hypocritical behaviour. He argued that KFOR and NATO should focus on the future, rather than the past, and that Serbia must fight for its people and country within the limits of what is possible.
Serbia’s position against Kosovo’s entry into the UN has certain consequences, including threats and sanctions being imposed on Serbia. Vučić has repeatedly stated that he will never sign anything, having said this several times.
Serbia has proposals to resolve the issue of missing persons from both Serbian and Albanian sides, but Pristina does not want the families of the missing to come to Kosovo. He stated that Serbia works on these issues for the families, ensuring lasting peace, information about their buried bodies, and access to the graves.
