Croatia has been voted the most desirable country in Europe by Wanderlust, a reputable travel magazine. The magazine revealed that Croatia has been climbing its way up the rankings for the past few years, and now it has deservedly secured a Gold position. Croatia is best known for its coastal stars, including the historic city of Dubrovnik, which won the title of Most Desirable City in Europe last year. Beyond the island and shoreline’s striking scenery, Croatia offers plenty of cultural discoveries and adventures, both by the sea and further inland. The award is a seal of approval and an excellent achievement of Croatian tourism, alongside the world’s most renowned tourism destinations such as Greece, Spain, France, and Italy. The Wanderlust Awards ceremony took place on 7 November at the British Museum during the World Travel Market (WTM), the largest travel and tourism event in the world.
“This is a big seal of approval and an excellent achievement of Croatian tourism,” said Kristjan Staničić, Director, Croatian National Tourist Board. “Croatia was recognised as a tourism champion alongside the world’s most renowned tourism destinations such as Greece, Spain, France, and Italy, which makes this success even greater.”
