The Regional Cybersecurity Symposium, held on 14 November, gathered experts, policymakers, industry leaders, and security professionals from 14 countries to strengthen national cyber security and collective cyber defence capabilities in Moldova and the region. The event, co-hosted by the e-Governance Academy and the EU-supported project „Moldova Cybersecurity Rapid Assistance”, aimed to address the growing need for cybersecurity enhancement in Moldova due to geopolitical issues and the country’s increased digitalisation and connectivity.
The EU-Moldova cooperation prioritises cybersecurity, with support in cybersecurity and cybercrime through the Cyber EAST project, continuous skill and awareness trainings through the Cybersecurity Rapid Assistance Project, and cyber defence through the EPF 2022 and 2023 assistance measures. e-Governance Academy (eGA) in Moldova is currently implementing three EU cyber assistance projects, totalling 6.7 million euros. The project „Moldova Cybersecurity Rapid Assistance” aims to increase the cyber resilience of public sector organisations and critical infrastructure sectors and align their operations with the European Union Directive on the security of network and information systems (EU NIS Directive). The project’s activities are carried out by the e-Governance Academy from May 2022 to November 2023.
