Slovakia is considering resuming the actions of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation with Turkmenistan, according to the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. In June, Turkmenistan’s Parliament Speaker Dunyagozel Gulmanova and Slovak Ambassador Viktor Boretsky discussed potential areas for bilateral cooperation, focusing on state improvement in each country.
The Ministry acknowledges that Slovakia needs to signal a new agreement on strengthening financial partnership and increasing cooperation between financial entities. Over the past decade, the quantity of trade between Slovakia and Turkmenistan has decreased by over 50%.
“The pattern additionally applies to exports from Slovakia to
Turkmenistan, primarily dominated by commodities equivalent to equipment,
measuring devices, and electrical producing units. Imports from
Turkmenistan to Slovakia over the identical time frame have been
insignificant in whole quantity, and in commodity phrases, they have been
represented solely by textile and cotton merchandise,” acknowledged the Slovak ministry.
