olish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski reminded on Platform X that Poland is paying for Starlink services for Ukraine. „Be quiet, little man,” SpaceX CEO Elon Musk responded.
„You are paying only a tiny fraction of the costs,” Musk replied to the Polish politician. „And there is no substitute for the Starlink system,” added the SpaceX CEO and close associate of U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a later post, Musk stated that „regardless of how much he disagrees with Ukraine’s policies, Starlink will never shut down its terminals for Ukraine.” He insisted that he had never threatened to cut Kyiv off from satellite internet, explaining his earlier remark in which he claimed that the Ukrainian front would „collapse” if Starlink were turned off.
„Starlink services for Ukraine are funded by the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs at a cost of approximately $50 million per year,” Minister Sikorski had previously written on X. „Putting aside the ethics of threatening a victim of aggression, if SpaceX proves to be an unreliable provider, we will be forced to seek other suppliers,” Poland’s Foreign Minister added.
