2026/02/18
in Logistics

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has ordered the mobilization of the relevant institutions in response to difficult weather conditions. He delivered the message at the start of today’s cabinet meeting.

“I ask colleagues from the relevant ministries to act in accordance with the established protocol. According to forecasts, the weather situation will worsen in the coming hours, so we must proceed as agreed and ensure the safety of our citizens first and foremost, and support local authorities in the situations that will arise. We have been through such situations before and I believe we will manage this time as well,” he said.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, between February 17, 14:00 and February 18, 20:00, heavy snowfall and strong winds with speeds of up to 15–20 m/s are forecast across the country. As a result, blizzard conditions, snowdrifts, and low visibility are expected. In some areas, sleet and glaze ice may also occur.
