The Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Foreign Affairs has successfully evacuated 42 Bosnian citizens and their relatives from Gaza, following weeks of efforts by various actors and institutions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH has formed a Crisis Staff to monitor the process and is working with embassies in Cairo, Tel Aviv, Amman, and Doha to provide assistance in organising the evacuation.
There are 54 people on the list to be evacuated from Gaza, with 19 being Bosnian citizens and the rest being relatives. The decision on the schedule and terms of evacuation is made by the Office of the Coordinator for Civil Affairs at the Israeli Ministry of Defence. BiH citizens are expected to be able to use the Rafah border crossing after the decision on evacuation. Accommodation and air transportation to Sarajevo are provided in Cairo, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH is working with representatives from the region, humanitarian action countries, international organisations, the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, the Ministry of Security of BiH, and the United Nations agency International Organisation for Migration.
