Mark Bowman, Vice President for Policy and Partnerships at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will visit Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania from 20 to 24 November. This marks the first time Bowman has visited all three Baltic states in his capacity as Vice President, indicating the EBRD’s commitment to supporting further growth in the region.
Last year, the Bank invested a record €358 million in the Baltic states, despite a challenging economic environment and reduced investor sentiment due to Russia’s war on Ukraine. The EBRD delegation will meet with key government members, including Minister of Finance Gintarė Skaistė, and sign a €1 million grant agreement to support EBRD activities in Ukraine. The delegation will also meet with business community leaders and potential new partners in Vilnius. In Latvia, they will discuss financial resilience, green economy transition, infrastructure investments, and capital market development. In Tallinn, the EBRD will meet with government and private companies to discuss future steps in the low-carbon transition and energy security.
