Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that the United Nations’ efforts to restore the Black Sea Grain Initiative are still unsuccessful. Russia withdrew from a deal to resume grain exports from Ukrainian Black Sea ports in July, leading to frequent attacks on Ukrainian ports and storage facilities. Ukraine has since stepped up efforts to find alternative export routes, shipping 700,000 metric tons of grain through its new Black Sea export corridor since August.
