During the CPAC Hungary conference on Thursday, Viktor Orbán expressed his support for Polish opposition presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki. “Long live Nawrocki,” he said. The pro-Russian Hungarian Prime Minister also announced a “patriotic plan,” which, he stated, should “transform” the European Union.
According to Reuters, nationalist Viktor Orbán—a long-time ally of former U.S. President Donald Trump—was speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the most prominent U.S. conservative gathering, held in Budapest.
It was there that he endorsed Polish presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki and unveiled the “patriotic plan,” which, in his words, is intended to “transform” the European Union.
“Long live Nawrocki,” Orbán declared.
The Hungarian Prime Minister once again rejected the possibility of granting Ukraine EU membership, opposed a common European tax system and collective debt mechanisms, and reiterated his stance on defending national sovereignty.
“We want to reclaim Europe from migrants. We want a Christian culture and schools based on national values,” Orbán said in his speech.
