Switzerland is making a generous €23.5 million contribution to Slovakia, aiming to bolster the conservation of nature and biodiversity in its protected areas. This eco-friendly gesture was confirmed following a meeting between Slovak Environment Minister Tomas Taraba and Swiss Ambassador Peter Nelson. The pair discussed the financial aid, initially agreed upon in September, which will primarily focus on the zoning of national parks in Slovakia.
Taraba, who holds his position under the Slovak National Party, pledged to consider the needs of local communities, including residents and municipalities, in these conservation efforts. Emphasizing the importance of collaboration, he noted that Switzerland also values working closely with local authorities in matters of nature preservation and tourism development.
