Wizz Air has announced a new direct connection between Lithuania and Germany, with flights from Vilnius to Berlin scheduled to begin on 27 October 2026.
The route will operate three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Ticket prices start at €29.99, and bookings are already available through the airline’s website and mobile application.
The new service will strengthen air links between the Lithuanian and German capitals, offering additional options for leisure travellers, business passengers and people visiting family and friends.
Affordable Connection to the German Capital
Berlin is one of Europe’s most popular city-break destinations, attracting visitors with its historical landmarks, museums, cultural institutions and nightlife.
Among the city’s best-known attractions are the Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island and the remains of the Berlin Wall. The German capital is also known for its diverse neighbourhoods, international cuisine and extensive cultural programme.
Wizz Air said the route was part of its continuing expansion in Lithuania.
“Wizz Air is delighted to continue expanding travel opportunities for passengers from Lithuania by introducing direct flights to Berlin,” said Salvatore Gabriele Imperiale, the airline’s corporate communications manager.
He added that the connection reflected the company’s commitment to improving accessibility from Vilnius and providing more affordable travel opportunities across Europe.
“Whether travelling for business, leisure or to visit friends and family, we are confident Berlin will become a popular destination among Lithuanian travellers,” Imperiale said.
Lithuanian Airports Welcomes New Service
Lithuanian Airports also welcomed the announcement, noting that the connection would benefit passengers travelling in both directions.
“We are delighted to see our long-term aviation partners Wizz Air improve connectivity with Berlin,” said Rūta Sinkevičiūtė, head of route development at Lithuanian Airports.
She said the three weekly flights would serve tourists, business travellers and people visiting relatives, while also making it easier for residents of Berlin and the surrounding region to visit Lithuania.
The route could therefore support both outgoing tourism from Lithuania and incoming visitor numbers from Germany, one of Lithuania’s most important European economic partners.
More Than 14 Million Passengers Since 2005
Wizz Air began operating in Lithuania in 2005, when it launched its first flight from Kaunas to Warsaw.
Since then, the low-cost carrier has transported more than 14 million passengers to and from Lithuania. It is currently the country’s second-largest airline by market share and operates 26 routes connecting Lithuania with 19 countries.
The Berlin route will further expand Vilnius Airport’s European network and increase competition on connections between Lithuania and Germany.
Wizz Air also emphasised that it operates one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient aircraft fleets in the aviation industry. The company presents fleet modernisation as an important part of its strategy to reduce fuel consumption and the environmental impact of its operations.
The launch of the Vilnius–Berlin service comes as Lithuania continues to expand its international air connectivity and strengthen links with major European political, economic and cultural centres.
